Changing the Cost Equation for Digital Government

There exists a substantial gap between what U.S. citizens want from digital government services and what federal agencies are actually able to provide. Why the disparity? According to a 2015 Government Business Council report, three out of four federal managers see positive outcomes from digital services—but just 33 percent count cost savings among them. In fact, nearly one third are unsure of the cost-effectiveness of digital.

The White House’s 2012 Digital Government Strategy has led to a shift to a more modern and technologically advanced administration. It has opened agencies to opportunities for digital tools in support of better collaboration, more engaged customer service, and increased employee efficiency.

Federal leaders want to realize the benefits of digital government but are unsure of how to overcome the budgetary challenges of large, transformative programs. Fortunately, some agencies have discovered that iterative development of digital services enables significant cost savings, rapidly increased customer satisfaction, and overall efficiency gains.

This viewcast, featuring federal agency leaders who have approached similar challenges with successful outcomes, will provide insight that will help you:

  • Discover why using the U.S. Digital Service's Playbook's recommendation for "agile and iterative practices" will enable you to save money, speed results, align resources, and lower risk
  • Learn how to use incremental development to quickly get from the starting blocks to "best for now," evolving to he ideal state over time
  • Build a foundation for results that includes choosing the right platform architecture, connecting with customers to obtain an  “outside-in” customer feedback strategy, and aligning with the agency’s mission to prioritize interactions and drive increased customer satisfaction

Join this viewcast on October 13th to see the digital cost equation in an entirely different way. At the conclusion of the viewcast, there will be an opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session with the panel - so don't forget to tweet your questions using #DigitalGovernment and tag @AccentureFed and/or @GovExecEvents.
