Many government agencies were not well prepared for the overnight transition to most employees becoming remote workers. Initially, these agencies struggled to equip the employees with the equipment, connectivity, and security to work from their homes. That stage is mostly behind us and government workers are now operational and have quickly adapted to working from home. Now we are seeing a cultural and expectation shift in the workforce and the communities they serve that this is a “new normal”. This global event may forever change the way we work and challenge the foundational concept of “going to work.” In this webinar, we explored the challenges faced, how governments have been forced to change, and the implications for the future of the government workforce.
