With warfighters and staff already located around the globe, the Department of Defense workforce has become more distributed than ever as the COVID-19 pandemic forced organizations to quickly ramp up telework. As DoD addresses security risks of the expanded network, it is increasingly turning to Zero Trust. This security architecture/paradigm, recently named a top initiative of the Digital Modernization Strategy, is intended to provide protection and security where other architectures haven’t. At the end of the day, trust is a human concept. And that concept (or limitation) has effectively infiltrated security architectures.
