Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing Requires New Thinking About Systems Integration

Scott Welles, Vice President, Booz Allen Hamilton

Bill Nichols, Director and Lead, Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT), Booz Allen Hamilton

Government and military organizations have a critical dependency on global positioning systems (GPS) to obtain the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) data they need to function properly. Because of this reliance, it is imperative that we upgrade and modernize individual PNT platforms — over 700 in total — to be more resistant to threats. Addressing this challenge will require a new way of thinking that transcends individual systems. Scott Welles, Vice President for Booz Allen Hamilton; and Bill Nichols, Booz Allen’s Director and Lead, Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT), discuss how government and military organizations can reimagine the way they approach PNT.
