Play of the Day: Tax Returns, Norms and the President

The White House is trying to block Congress from investigating Donald Trump's finances.

According to reports, the Homeland Security Department is going to deploy Transportation Security Agency employees to the border to help with immigration. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, saying that TSA agents have been "training for" keeping people from traveling easily.

The White House is fighting a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee for President Donald Trump's tax returns and administration members even called out Democrats for violating "rules and norms" of modern politics. Late Late Show's James Corden joked about the news, saying that "rules and norms went out the window about two porn stars ago." In federal court, administration officials have said that only the Justice Department within Trump's administration can investigate the president, prompting Late Show's Stephen Colbert to joke that Trump only wants to "investigate myself." A reporter also tweeted that administration officials also said that Trump is "not above the law, but he's also not below the law," prompting Colbert to show a classic Judge Dredd clip that sums up the administration's position on the rule of law.
