Draft rule opens long-term care, leave programs to domestic partners
Sept. 14
This story initially mischaracterized who would be covered under the proposed regulations. The long-term care program would only be open to the partners of gay and lesbian federal employees, but the leave regulation would extend certain categories of time off to opposite-sex domestic partners as well.

Stimulus guidance calls for more detailed reporting

An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the Recovery Act Board would make publicly available by Oct. 10 new data provided by stimulus recipients to agencies. Award recipients must report data required by the June 22 OMB memo to agencies by Oct. 10, and agencies then have 20 days to review the information.
Change in Army relocation plans draws fire from appropriators

The original version of this article should have noted that Defense Secretary Robert Gates' decision to keep the Army at 45 brigades will result in the cancellation of plans to send a second brigade of troops to Fort Stewart, Ga. The Army has already sent one brigade to the base.
Report paints agencies as deadbeat travel card holders

Postmaster General to face Congress over compensation

The original version of this story incorrectly referred to the Postal Rate Regulatory Commission. The correct name of the organization is the Postal Regulatory Commission.
Disability Decisions

The original version of this column said that employees who apply for disability retirement must show they have become disabled as a result of their federal job. They do not need to show a relationship between the job and the disability. The column has been updated to correct the error.
Low-Hanging Benefits

The original version of this column implied that CBO advocated the benefits cuts listed. The items are simply options that lawmakers asked CBO to examine.
Lawmakers urge halt to NSPS pending review
Feb. 13
The original version of this story incorrectly noted that the Pentagon had added more than 187,000 nonbargaining unit employees to NSPS since 2006 and planned to bring an additional 15,000 into the system in the coming months. In fact, the department has added more than 205,000 nonbargaining unit employees to NSPS since 2006 and planned to bring an additional 3,600 into the system in the coming months. The Office of Personnel Management provided the incorrect data.
Pay-for-Performance Pointers
Jan. 29
The original version of this column mischaracterized Congress' 2007 pay raise instructions. Lawmakers said Defense must grant no less than 60 percent of the General Schedule raise to employees who earned satisfactory performance ratings (a 3 or higher on the NSPS scale), and the full locality pay adjustment to anyone with a rating of 2 or better.
