President Donald Trump lamented the state of the news media last week, saying, "It’s frankly disgusting the way the press is able to write whatever they want to write and people should want to look into it." Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost joked that Trump may be off-base because the press doesn't write whatever it wants, considering no one wrote "Hillary Clinton is next president" after the November election.
The border wall prototypes from contractors are starting to come together near a Customs and Border Protection in California. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the prototypes, saying that Trump could get the wall for free by simply getting enough contractors to build samples. He also showcased each of the prototypes, including "The Venetian" and "The Continental."
