After Barack Obama’s speech on immigration, late-night hosts found time to highlight the issue. On The Daily Show, Jon Stewart called illegal immigrants “America’s secret sauce” and brought in staff correspondent Al Madrigal to explain the issue. Jimmy Fallon and Jay Leno used jokes about the Spanish language for their shows. Additionally, Stephen Colbert asked about GOP diversity in the wake of Colin Powell’s comments about the party’s inclusiveness.
Fast forward to 1:50 to see Madrigal explain why Hispanics may not warm to the Republican party just yet.
