The man is a terrorist. Plain and simple. For all the P.C. bleeding hearts out there, wake up and smell the coffee. His atrocities amount to no less than the deadly carnage committed on 9-11. He should be executed...and swiftly.

Bill, really? Army cover up? Are you that cynical? With all the fingers being pointed at the Army, apparently yours being among them, what makes you think the Army would cover this up? What makes you think they could? What makes you think they want to? Unbelievable. Did you read that before you hit the "send" button?

Many of us questioned how the military promoted officers back in the 1990s, when Customs hired 2 former Air Force captains as special agents. Both had serious psychological problems (not PTSD, because they never saw combat). One ended up in an institution, and the other one committed suicide after being separated from the service. At the time, many of us wondered not only how they passed their background investigations, but how they were even promoted to the rank of captain in the Air Force, given their obvious mental health issues. Unfortunately, it seems that the military is still recruiting and promoting those it shouldn't, with a very tragic result.

Totally agree with Been BRAC. The second guessing has already started. And from an unexpected source, Sen. Lieberman. It is precisely his body along with way to many others (ACLU) who have created this climate of hesiance among leaders to pursue punitive action. One blemish on an officers record due to "discrimination" and his/her career is over. That along with the willingness to settle complaints rather than investigate and fight when there is a bogus grievence has led to this climate. Now, take your 20/20 hindsight vision and try to fix something rather than wait for tragedy and criticze.

There are no words I can think of that have not already been stated by so many others to adequately express the sorrow I feel in my heart for the families of these fallen Americans. What a horrific and tragic situation. What is beginning to rock my boat, however, is the constant and ever- increasing criticism by the liberal media of the Army chain of command who, as far as much of the media is concerned, should have been more aware of whatever issues or signals this psycho had supposedly been showing prior to commiting this unforgivable crime. Leave it to the media to focus and point fingers at the good guys and shift the blame over to them for what this guy did. I'm sure we will be hearing in short order why this wasn't really his fault after all, or about how this guy was somehow mistreated by the army, mistreated as a child, or some other garbage to explain/justify his reasons for killing and wounding innocent Americans. If it were up to some members of the liberal press, the focus and blame would be entirely on the army and the killer would be off the hook. I even heard one popular TV news figure, after blasting the chain of command, refer to the killer as the "alleged shooter". Are you kidding me!!?? How many people witnessed this nut job pull the trigger? I agree completely with "Proud American". Hang him and hang him now.

Here's a quote from Obama regarding this incident:
We don't know all the answers yet. And I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts," Obama said in a Rose Garden statement otherwise devoted to the economy.
Maybe Obama should do the same next time one of his friends gets into trouble with a police officer from Boston. Remember that incident? Didn't Obama jump to conclusions in that case?

Bill, I am seen minority officers who are total screwups get kicked out of the military and cry like little babies to review boards that they were discriminated against. AND they got reinstated. No wonder the Army was reluctant to discharge this guy. It's the fault of the PC Police.

The only appropriate punishment for this traitor is the death penalty. However, I doubt that the current administration has the guts to seek it. I offer my deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims of this murderer, and their families. His actions were barbaric, and mirror those of the terrorists we fight in Afghanistan and Iraq. This should serve as a warning to all Americans not to get complacent, because there are enemies living here among us.

My thoughts and prayers to all at Fort Hood. Now reading this article it appears that the warning signs were noted and discussed by officials, if this is true then heads need to roll there better be a bunch of resignations immediately. We need to monitor this to ensure the Army does not cover this up they need to hold people accountable. thanks

How sad that so many have to suffer for the actions of this one man. Countless members of the Marines, Navy, Army and Air Force have given years of their lives so this person could live in freedom to practice his religion and have opportunities. He chose the military, obtained his education through the military and when ordered to deploy (like many others) he chose to destroy rather than to help. For a physician to take this action is disgusting. I pray for the many families affected by his actions, God bless the US military.
