Sending more troops is not the answer. The Aghans have defeated every invader in their history, including superpowers like the Soviet Union and Britain. Why are we spending billions teaching them how to fight? The fight was with AlQueda, a chance Bush blew when he went to Baghdad. Now they've moved on to Pakistan, for the most part. Do we invade them next? The Taliban are fighting us because we are here, not because they are trying to destroy America and the Afghans who support the Taliban do so because they pay them for their loyalty. In the short run we may be helping some of the locals and we're sure making Karzai rich but we'd have to stay here 40-50 years to make a real difference. Not every society should be a democracy and Afghanistan is like Iraq, tribal in nature and their loyalty is to the tribe, not the corrupt government we are propping up. Young Afghans don't want to fight for their country, they are trying to go to America. Face it folks, there is no "win" here.

Sadly, with each passing day the President drags he feet more and more of our troops are lost to a worthless cause. Bring them ALL home Mr. President - bring them all home..............and not in a coffin.

Adm. Mullen here is a hot tip... The Soldiers and Marines YOU are talking to would never say anything other than life is good or 'This doesn't suck enough, Sir!' BTW. Nobody ever takes you to see the motorpool that is laden with 'hanger queens' nor do they take you to the barracks with mold on the walls. Oh, unless of course the Washington Post runs a story about those issues!
Afghanistan is hopeless! Ten years from now Afghans will be fighting each other, again. Only then they will be better equipped and trained!
