RE: fedbens.us (calculators)
I'm told the problem was with the Firefox browser - it is not compatible with the programs. This has been reported to the Firefox technicians, for fixing. The programs work fine with the various IE browsers - just be sure you select "Run" not "Save."

Thanks Robert Benson for that link to a seemingly useful retirement calculator website. Too bad nothing works. When trying to run any of the listed applications, all of them say "You can't run the application from a download by design. Plesae run it from the website". Even when you try tro run it from the website, the same message appears. Oh well.

gal, those who received buyouts in the private sector often lose their pensions and healthcare. Any chance that you would be willing to take the offer with those stipulations??

Hopefully in another move designed to increase revenue and to be GREEN, since the Postal Service is selling greeting cards, they will also sell greeting POST CARDS. I use post cards since they use less paper and use less postage; thus, saving trees for the earth and money for me. Please when selling greeting cards, also sell greeting POSTAL CARDS!!! Thanks, Liz.

RE: Sick Leave Credit for FERS Retirements
Readers should know about the new tool for quickly and easily calculating the exact amount of the increase in a FERS employee's annuity, due to sick leave credit.
The tool is at fedbens.us no. 7 on the menu.

I understandd that the people that retired in June and July of 2009 will not get the 15,000. I think that anyone that retired within 6 months should be included in this buyout since we were told we would not see one so go ahead and retire and not worrie.
