Giving the Forest Service and Interior Department extra money to fight fires is like taking the 3.5 billion dollars and flushing it down a new solar toilet. This year alone they increased AD casual employees a cross the board 25% increase when the unemployment rate was in double digits. Also, give retention bonus to technicians in California. Agencies try to increase the job duties and salary for firefighters almost every year and now they want to develop a new classification standard for firefighters that will increase their grade and salary. How many deaths do we have to experience before we take a detail review on when and how to fight fires. Also, maybe taking employee's and resources from the Interior and Forest Service and create a new agency to handle fire related activites.
