Amen to the last post.. Do these idiots not realize how much money it wastes modifying every government contract to add money with every new ACR??? It creates four times the work for contracting government-wide. Not having a budget in place costs money!!!

Pathetic. And they wonder why Congress has an approval rating lower than George Bush at his lowest!

"At a time when our country is facing a $1.4 trillion deficit this year alone, providing a massive 17 percent increase in these Interior and environment programs is unacceptable," said House Appropriations ranking member Jerry Lewis. "We simply cannot solve all of the nation's challenges -- and we put ourselves in greater financial peril -- by continuing to throw billions out the door with little result." ... HEY everybody let's NOT listen to the guy who is making sense here ... NOOOoo that would be too logical, rational, un-Democratic...change we can live with...

Sadly, congress has a year to get this done every year and can't seem to get their act together. If as a federal employee my performance record was as poor, or my negotiation skills were as bad, I would not be a federal employee for very long. It is a shame that we keep electing the same poor performers over and over again.
