    Excellent article explaining what happened to Deep water. I had no idea the Coast Guard supply, procurement and shipbuilding programs had atrophied to such an extent. My hat goes off to the hard work of ADM Allen and his rebuilding of the Coast Guard. I am sure that the appointment of Capt. Mehling and Capt Schultz to the rank of Rear Admiral will fill some much needed holes in the new Coast Guard
