Notice that you fail to cite the Ramsussen Poll which does it work based on the demographics of the electorate 40% conservative 25% liberal and the balance moderates. The other polls reference use a base line of 50% liberal and only 20% conservative

This article is just like Obama - Ridiculous. Full of do-do. All we have is a pile of debt which requires more taxes to pay it off and Americans don't even realize they are probably already paying 50% of their hard earned money on taxes now when you add up all the different taxes. Government has their hands in too many parts and too many lives. And BTW, I know many Democrats who don't like Obama as well as we all see we're going down the wrong path to socialism. I'm a member of Gallup poles and since Obama has been in office they have not contacted me for a survey because they know my opinion would lower his ratings as well as the other Republican Gallup pole folks. Anyone can give a percentage. I bet his rating is lower than 50%.

It took Mr. Bush 8 years to dig this hole. I think a little more than 6 months will be required to get us out. Mr. Obama seems to be making sense in terms of his policy decisions, not relying on his own judgements as our last president did, but actually working with experts in the areas being addressed. What I have seen is that most experts in economics feel that we need to spend money at this point. No one has all the answers: at least we finally have a president that acknowledges this and works with others who are knowlegeable to solve our problems.

Labeling Obama as a bigger spender than Bush is rediculous. The current cost of the war in Iraq stands at more than $650 billion and it was totally avoidable. Whereas the stimulus package was see as essential by all economist even if the size and shape of what was required could be debated. Also keep in mind that half of the $700 billion TARP tab came under the Bush adminstration.

"When we look deeper into the surveys' results, we see that most Americans like Obama personally -- that is, except for the 25 to 30 percent who still consider themselves Republicans."
Yup, because it's impossible for someone who isn't a Republican to not like him - please!

WHAT BARGAIN? I really do believe in the power of positive thinking; however, I believe the only thing that the President has done or accomplished so far is promised us everything but the Moon and provided us nothing more than a huge amount of debt. I futher believe that the percentage figures you quote show that a certain percent of our citizens still believe that the new government will put a chicken in every pot, pay off their credit cards, keep them in their homes they can ill afford, and provide free medical care for the rest of their lives. The figures you quote also show that hopefully some of our citizens are beginning to wake up to the truth that the government is us and we do not have enough paper (we are already out of money)to print all the play money to continue down the destructive path we are on. The one good thing that seems to be occurring is that we are saving more money these days, or is it just because we are afraid and distrustful of what our so called business and government leaders will do next. We can only hope that more will see the light. 54 Years and still serving.

Chuck, when are you going to wake up and smell what's going on. Stop giving Obama a free pass on everything he does and start putting two and two together. We are heading toward having a socialist run country. The government already owns GM, environmentalists are going to tell you what car you can drive and when you can sell your house (if it doesn't meet energy efficiency standards), and if cap and trade gets through the senate then he will be even more in everyone's knickers. And you talk about Americans concern "watching the federal government spend huge amounts of money over the past eight and a half years" and your boy Obama has spent more than that combined in 6 months! Why aren't you concerned with that!! It scares me! Quit trying to blame Bush. Moe (Obama) is digging this hole himself with the help of Curly (Pelosi) and Larry (Reid). If the direction we're going doesn't STOP now the only thing left to do will be to head to the stores to buy hand baskets 'cause this country is heading south in a hurry ...

The focus should expand from paying for all this, to include also whether the vast spending was effective or not. It is clear that Wall Street got a huge welfare check already. Cap & Trade will become their bonus. It will also become clear that health care will turn out to be taking care, of the health insurance companies first.
Meanwhile, unemployment is rising, by the President's own admission, to over 10%. His own economic advisers, back in January, projected that level WITHOUT the Recovery Act. In other words, the Recovery Act did nothing. GM and Chrysler are going through restructuring, despite the billions of tax dollars given them on the premise of too big to fail. That money did nothing to change history either. As to foreclosure threatened home owners - I haven't heard about a single penny of relief to an individual, nearly after a year of the $700 billion TRAP was thrown over our eyes. How much and how well spent - those should be paired questions, and the blame Bush period should be over soon too.

Not very popular for a person who took the elections by landslide. Interesting? Eight years of Bush did not put our country into debt so deep our great-grandchildren will be paying for these decisions of this administration.
