Wow... Even I must shake my head and wonder. What is their thought process? This may not have been much, a mere suffling of the deck, but it WAS something some might call progress.
Is this action meant to foster continuity? Extend the knowledge base? Is there a redeeming grace?!
Questions abound. Will they listen to anyone; particularly us? Can any cowboy handle this herd?
Still watching and, perhaps, beginning to wonder... Out there somewhere...

I just wonder who elected Nancy Pelosi queen? She's third in line to the presidency....yikes!

Since a position on a committee is worth extra $$, and chairmanship of any committee is worth that plus lots of perks from being wooed by special interest groups & lobbyists - this grab for power & position is not a surprise....sadly from our politicians. Even more sad that the Dems would blatently make the grab for permanent position as soon as they have the power to do so - and in such a sneaky way as opening day. Shame on them. We should demand they put the measure to vote AFTER they get input from voters. Congress isn't meant to be their personal club! And the idea they'll be ok with the Speaker watching over them is only good as long as the speaker is one who watches and acts! This is stupid, self-serving logic they're using.
