Who establishes it a "no cause case"? If it was someone in a role like yours, is that information documented as such (as a no cause case). Or, are employees merely verbalizing to superiors that it is a "no cause case". Thanks for your honesty, and courage, and for being part of the "transparency" process. The Obama Administration promises accountability and transparency, and it is encouraging to know that at least some in the FHEO are aware of this. It has to be identified and exposed, before it can be corrected.

I'm saying that when an allegation is established as a no cause case. FHEO management should close the case, but under the Bush and Kim Kendrick's Administration investigators were forced to dig and dig until the Respondent conciliate or close the case years later which cost the Respondent and taxpayers thousands of dollars for a no cause case.

Robert, Thank you for your comment. You state "FHEO abuse employees and force them to abuse innocent Respondents when the the real discriminators are FHEO management (advocates)". Can you elaborate. Are you saying HUD FHEO management and advocates knowingly file complaints against those they know have committed no wrong? We encourage you to post. We know that this is happening, but it is important that the American public hears it from an inside view. Please tell us what you saw, here and on other blogs. Thank you for speaking up.

HUD FHEO is seemingly the Accuser, Judge, Jury, and Executioner of it's own employees. FHEO abuse employees and force them to abuse innocent Respondents when the the real discriminators are FHEO management (advocates). Focus on the real discriminators and you will have more Cause cases - fmr (fired)employee

Some people feel that HUD has "shaken them down" and tried to "extort" them. HUD filed a Complaint (generated by "no accuser" with "no accusation"), and sent a non-specific Complaint (still no accuser or accusation) stating that basically that lets put us behind us, with no admission or wrongdoing, though you must make a donation of $5000.
IS it me, or is HUD, requesting donations - Quid Pro Quo? And why is this not extortion. The person doing this, is the same person involved with the shakedown of Philadelphia to sell land.

I currently work in FHEO. There are many problems in this office. Particularly in the programs division. The contracted agencies that investigate cases for the agency and the ones that promote fair housing are poorly trained by the directors. In this office particularly. The average case of discrimination is usually conciliated, which means that both parties agree to come to terms without an investigation ever being done. There are many problems in the agency but with no travel funds, sloppy directors, and the mentality of just go ahead and take the case, that way they will be satisfied and leave us alone.

Good idea. Look at the number of cases brought to trial by the government: 0 Look at the number of cases brought to trial by civilian attorneys: A whole bunch. Why? That is what I'd like to know. All it takes is one document to make a Cause case for trial.

It would have been great if these two former HUD officials would have staffed the FHEO programs of HUD during their tenure. Less than 600 employees to enforce Fair Housing nationwide!!! This is ridiculous. Now they want to find fault. I say lets put the fault where it should be, back on them!! Want to fix it, give HUD the employees. FHEO is not in conflict with HUD programs but with special interests groups.

Whatever agency is formed, what makes you think the same thing will not happen there? Why not just enforce the laws we have instead of making new laws (to break)? Upper management, locally, and HQ's, seem to disregard what the laws are anyway. When they are reported as abuse and mismanagement, nothing happens. Something appears to be "not working." I think it is contracting out. HUD employees care about their jobs, we are held to specific ethics, apparently management is not. We want to keep our jobs, just do away with corrupt managment.

Where are they going to find capable, honest CS?? Right now we have the careerists that have jobs for life and zero accountability it would take a wholesale house cleaning to fix this

Creation of yet another government agency is all we need. A National Commission on Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, an independent agency to enforce fair housing. The new entity would focus solely on fair housing enforcement and education as well as ethical lending practices. Hopefully, the will focus on not lending money to those who simply can't afford to buy a $400K house pm $30K a year.

What is their recommendation for the investigators who are presently investigating complaints for FHEO? Fire us? We are doing some great work here with those limitations that you speak of in this article. I am 40 years old with 20 years of government experience. We work our tail off here in Philadelphia.
