I'm truly disappointed by Obama's picks so far. As someone who felt quotas were absolutely necessary why is he picking these folks. No one should be selected based on education and skills, this is the Fed Gov't and the best and brightest are never wanted

Let's see, a centrist with the best track record for economic improvement over the past twenty years, despite an opposition Congress. A centrist who succeeded despite all odds from an antagonistic Congress... Perhaps a Bill Clinton political and economic model isn't the worst we could face; as long as the distractions are minimized this time.
OB seems to be tracking right with his campaign promises. It could be worse for the Party Pachyderm. At least they MIGHT have an idea of what is to come and how to deal with it.
Let's hope he continues AND succeeds. The republic is watching with anticipation.

I find it quite annoying to hear all these people accussing Obama of somehow going against his "change" campaign. I think many simply forget that in order to actually change Washington's energy, foreign, economic, domestic and defense policies you need employees with experience and knowledge. It was always an honest arguement to lodge against Obama that he lacked a certain amount of experience on any number of issues. However he always countered that his judgement on any number of these issues showed that despite his lack of experience he displayed an acute understanding of these issues. Also it would be pretty hard to find people to work for his new administration who did not have any experience working for the Clinton Admin, since the last Dem to hold office before Clinton was Carter back in 76-80. Most of the people he has named including Mr Orzag, have CV's and experience which make them ideal candidates for their positions. Oh and on a personal note, it would be unwise to think that Obama will only please one side of the isle, his tenure will be weighed by his decisions but should he put GOP, DEM's, Progressives Independants and Conservatives in his admin then we all share the plaudits and the failures as a nation. And as it should be!

Give me a break everyone. Seeing the new president appoint individuals who are actually well educated, well qualified, and more representative of the diverse makeup of this country is a BIG change from the past 8 years. If you don't see this as a change, something is wrong.

iggy, JDB et al it seems obvious to me that to you change is a new coat of paint. Real change however is much deeper. Real change is putting in place a management team that is competent and able to advance the President's agenda.

Who did this country just elect....Barak Obama or Bill Clinton? This is change we can believe in? Looks like politics as usual. Mr Obama has to now kick back to those who supported him just as every other "politician" does. So much for bringing in fresh faces and ideas. Nothing new here.

Everybody's pretending to be surprised by the number of former Clinton administration players being recruited to fill Obama cabinet positions. You people weren't paying attention to the part where Obama said in one of his many debates with Clinton, that quite likely the personnel would look remarkably similar in either case. The reason is clear competency. The difference is over all vision. Pay attention Cheswick...

They might be former Clinton advisors, workers, whatever you want to call them, BUT they all possess the educational criteria to function in the positions effectively. THIS could NEVER be said under the current REGIME, who handed out positions of power and influence to ANY CRONIE willing to do the REGIME's bidding!

The more I read on Obama's selection to positions within his White House Staff, the more I see that his selections are prior Clinton Administration personnel. Guess his definition of CHANGE is to bring back the last Democratic Administration Staff, to include the Clinton's themselves.

Appears president elect Barry Sotero is appointing all the old cronies from the Clinton administration. Now that's what I call real "change". Appears to the the same old, same old.

Are we sure that Hillary did not win?

Has Obama hired ANYONE yet who didn't work for the Clinton Administration, or are we facing Clinton III?
