I too have been using this leave chart since 2002. It would be great to have a 2010-2020 chart. It helps me keep track of my time because I can then determine if there is any mistakes on my official record.

Please hurry and create the electronic leave chart for 2010 and beyond. It was so helpful in calculating my leave and also seeing what leave I am going to take during the whole year.

Employees must "use" their excess annual leave by the end of a leave year or they will "lose" (forfeit) it. The 2008 leave year ends on 3 January 2009. Any leave in excess of the maximum (240 hours for most employees) will be lost after 3 January 2009.

If you are under the CSRS Retirement System you must retire on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of the month for your retirement to start the "same" month. If you retire on the 4th or later, your retirement won't start until the 1st of the "following" month. Not sure about FERS but I believe they have to retire on the last day of the previous month for their retirement to start the first.

I plan on retireing on 4 January 2010 because the 2 January falls on a Saturday. How will that affect my pay and A/L carry over?

However, most federal employees aren't postal workers, so this is right for them, just like the GEICO leave records.

Wayne is correct if he is a U S Postal Employee. Our pay periods start on a Saturday....therefore the charts are incorrect for us....the first day of our new pay period is SATURDAY January 3rd.
-

Pay periods always start on Sunday, so the chart is correct.

I just checked my calendar: 2008 Leave year ends with the last pay period ending 1-3-08. The first pay period of 2009 starts with Sunday 1-4-08 and ends Saturday 1-10-08.

Isn't the leave chart one day off? Leave year starts on Saturday January 3, not the 4th?
