You think Acadia is a complex park? Take a look at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. More than 2 million visitors in a park spread out in three counties and more than 12 cities. And no one give is $400,000 a year. Acadia is a piece of cake in comparison.

Great photos - thanks for sharing. I hope to have the opportunity to volunteer in our national parks upon retirement. Unfortunately we have not obligated the necessary resources to maintaining our national treasures. Given the current state of the economy we will all have to pitch in if we want future generations to enjoy these wonders.

Years ago I had the honor of working two summers as a seasonal law enforcement ranger for the west district of Acadia National Park. Great scenery, great people, wonderful architecture and local history. Bass Harbor light would be on my wedding invitations the second summer.
