    I'll be 60 on 12/26/2008, have worked 28 years & 9 months. Is the best day to retire 12/31/08 to be eligible for at least some of the COLA that's effective on Jan 1 ? Thank you!!

    I am aware that the US Navy (Civil Service) provides many Pre Retirement Seminars in the San Diego area. Why not attempt contact with their HR people and see if they will let you attend.

    My activity does not offer a pre-retirement seminar, do you have any recommendations for seminars in San Diego? I'm under CSRS.

    I second that request. I saw an article recently put out by TSP and it was advised to stay put. I disagree.

    Please post an article that explains how our TSP accounts have been affected by recent events, and what directions are advised for Federal employees at varying stages of terms of service.
