INPUT's analyses are usually very precise and accurate, but I question whether the FY2000 small business contracting was really $200B; more likely is was $20B. And the same can be said for FY2007 at over $400B; it was most likely $40B. Still the numbers are huge for small business opportunities.

SBA's administration of the SDB program was very slow and unresponsive. My company, Northeastern Electricl Corportation applied for SDB and Maryland DOT at the same time. Mryland certified my company as a minority business in less than three moths whereas I never herd from SBA for months and even after a letter from Congressman Van Hollen, SBA did not respond. I think the loss of SDB program is not due to the lack of application but inaction by SBA to frustrate the SDB applicants. I hope the new President revises the SDB and appointment an agressive administrator who demands accountability from the lazy and unresponsive SBA staff.
Thanks,
