cfw - come on, perhaps it is just as you said, but if so, don't you mean "SIXTEEN YEARS of closed door/behind the scenes, cigar smoking, good ole boy..." The administration of WJC was hardly transparent. BHO will not be any different (see WSJ article on their failure to disclose foreign contributions)

My only request of the next president, whoever that may be, is - Please, a little transparency. After eight years of closed door/behind the scenes, cigar smoking, good ole boy, right wing fanatics, deal making and hidden agendas, I'm literally sick of it.

Yes hope is a method. It is the greatest method ever. Don't you right wing haters realize without hope there is no hope?. Obama is the and I mean THE GREATEST LEADER of all time. I hope we can just eliminate term limits and make him supreme ruler. I will follow him anywhere. There must be hope because he says it. He would not lie to us. He will make us great again, like no other. Obama is so great that we will not even need hope anymore because of him. I cant wait to swear my total allegiance to him. We shall rename our country Obamica. It will no longer be President but Obamadent. If the founding father only knew that spreading the wealth around would be the answer we would have been a great nation long ago. I love you all and all hail OBAMA!!!!

Hope may not be a method, "But it sure as hell beats 4 more years of the Bush Era"

Hope is not a method.

This is a biased political article just before the election. There was no companion article, favorable or negative, relative to the other candidate. There is a great difference between ideals and a delivery of real solutions. Socialism is not the solution. Many assumptions are expressed about one with very limited experience to show that the comments made are realistic. I expect this magazine to be fair and balanced but obviously the editor does not think it needs to be so.

Ryan, your comments scare me. They resemble "messiah" worship in that you cannot seem to accept the fact that leaders have faults regardless if they have the potential to be "the greatest" or not.
Every time I am exposed (which is ALL THE TIME) of the media's adoration of Mr. Obama, I am reminded of North Korea's Juche philosophy. We cannot allow this way of thinking to premeate into American society.
I do believe Obama is well-meaning and brings great ideas to the table, however, when you refer to someone who has the potential to be "the greatest leader ever",please re-think that with a sobering thought. Leaders are capable of doing wrong, no matter how "awesome" or great they may be.

You will all get appointments in an Obama Administration. He will lead us like no other leader. He is the truest leader ever. Leading us into the future like no one else. I love hime and want him to lead me because he is the greatest leader ever. Except for the fact that he has no and I mean no experience he will be the greatest leader ever and I thank the Democratic party for giving us this reformer from the most corupt county(Cook County, Il) in the US. He really cleaned that place up. Just ask Mayor Daly he is gone right. No he is not but Obama ia true reformer. Thank God the term is only four year. Carter could only hurt the US so much. Obama will do more damage(even more than Bush) but it will be over soon enough.

The federal workforce, myself included, needs to make an attitudinal shift from cynicism to hope in order to take on the mission in front of us. My question is: How can a current, experienced civil servant-leader, who cares to make a difference, apply for a political appointment in an Obama administration?
