Isn't it interesting how Republicans in the Senate seem to be running scared of the very IDEA of putting any of their laws in clear, concise, understandable language? Could it be that they would no longer be able to claim that judges were legislating from the bench when they ruled an unconstitutional law was not constitutionally valid?

Sen Bennett (R-Utah) is right. How dare the Federal Election Commission be required to issue documents in plain language? How could the 2000 Florida Election results be discussed in plain language? No, we need language that obfuscates and hides our intent when it comes to elections. The results are too important to be left to simple explanation. After all when the people speak the lawyers must provide the interpretation.
