I hop they havent done it from a government computer also. But I don't think that matters OBAMA will track tham down and put them in jail like they should be. OBAMA is the greatest leader ever and they should have a "time out" to understand that. They should also be reeducated to understand that. We all will soon. Obamaca is our future. God bless you and all hail OBAMA!!!!

Why would anyone want to downsize the most stable employer in the US right now? This I will never understand.

I hope SandraM & McCain Supporter are not writing from government owned computers or their work offices, otherwise they have violated the Hatch Act.
Anyway, calling McCain a 'maverick' and 'reformer' is like claiming Bush is a fiscal conservative. It's the big lie, say it often enough and you expect people will believe it.

Has Mr. Soloway been the voice for Govt/DoD acquisition to long? Is it time we look to someone else for fresh perspective? For so long what he has said has been taken as gospel. Is it because those he speaks to are naive of what really goes on? Has anyone every purchased the following using anything but a fixed price contract ... bathroom or kitchen remodel, car, boat, house, home heating system, basement, landscaping, or any other major purchase of an item or service in their private life? Too often in Govt/DoD contracting today Time and Material/Labor Hour contracts are being used. What gets delivered ... NOTHING!!! ... all at a great profit to the contractor. WHY? because Fed Govt/DoD acquisition personnel cannot, or are not provided the necessary resources to, define the requirements, smartly negotiate contracts, and here's a revelation ... manage the contractor's performance. McCain ... and I'm not a fan ... is for the most part correct. As more and more of what the Fed Govt and DoD procure is determined Commercial ... more an more should be purchased under fixed price contracts. The situation today is like welfare for the Fed/DoD contractor community ... they can't loose ... only the taxpayers.

I think Sandra M needs to look further back in history - Circular A-76 has been around since 1966. The Reagan administration was a strong proponent of 'contracting out' traditionally "government jobs" as she calls them. During my 29 years in the Army, we contracted many positions that were performed by Soldiers to civilians - this was especially prevalent during my tours in the 1980s in Germany and Korea.

Interesting fiction. Have the neocons done anything to benefit working Americans? Why would this change in light of the rapidly escalating public debt?
As for reforms, Rummy and the neocons gave us NSPS. Consider that for most if not all of their careers, the executives and middle managers currently under NSPS were top block performers. Now, the majority are considered average due to the quota system. Apparently, the hidden goal was to destroy morale.

McCain and Palin have my vote. I think he has the experience to be President on Day One, and she is a breath of fresh air and representative of a secure generation of working women. The article has an error -- Competitive sourcing, or contracting out of traditionally government jobs, began in the Clinton years. As a government auditor, I performed A76 studies of Army IT, logistics and maintenance divisions in the years 1997 to 1999. Bush gets the blame for everything, but competitive sourcing wasn't started in the Bush Administration.

I agree anyone is a fool to believe Obama has the ability to back up his promises. He is both naieve and trying to say whatever it takes to get votes. McCain on the other hand speaks from the heart and has no hidden agenda except what's best for our country. He has a lot of years in government and knows what it takes to get the job done. His running mate is also honest with no hidden agenda. They have my vote! The government and country both will be much better served with McCain vs. Obama.
