Why do we need distribution stations why don't they just make hydrogen on demand car's no pressurized fuel cell's to erupt in the event of accedent's just add water or even only use 10% foosil fuel an the rest hydrogen. It has been done. Without gov funding! The technology is there just dig through the enternet an see what you think. What about a hydrogen gen plug it in turn it on makes hyrogen for your house hold heating, hot water or new stove top.Well the most likely resson I believe it would be hard to tax it if you could make it your self.Think about it how many tax dollars we would lose???? Well somebody would not get those tax dollars an just think we can't get out of debt now.Well that's just my thoght's!

Hopefully, GM won't come to the conclusion it is too good and pull it from the market. I am hoping the government takes the lead in laying the infrastructure to support the hydrogen automobiles. I don't see a great incentive for the energy companies, which are making billions off of high oil prices, to make any dramatic moves to make oil less needed by us consumers. I also don't see any great incentives for senior political powers to push for alternate sources of energy since so many of them have ties and direct family fortunes attributable to the oil industry.

So my mail has been late because of high gas prices? My mail that use to take 4 to 5 days now takers over 10 days so my bills are late. Is this what I should expect? I would like to know so I can plan accordingly. I am really getting worried whether should I or should I not use the postal service ? signed, please no late charges

There are two barriers to full-scale adoption of hydrogen fuel cell technology: distribution and distillation. The USPS is on the right track. Hydrogen use by large vehicle fleets will facilitate creation of viable distribution networks. The other challenge, distillation, will require development of low energy impact technologies, like wind, solar, or geothermal. Iceland mastered distillation over a decade ago by taping their vast geothermal resources. Now, over 60% of Iceland's vehicles use hydrogen fuel cells.

Why can't all gov't vehicle be equipped with windmills for power or better still solar cells. No drilling that way when oil goes to $500 a barrel our CS will demand a 1 day work week to cut their expenses. Reminds when the Core developed solar powered cells to measure river flows and flood warnings. One of our highly technical CS submitted a suggestion to run power lines to a floodlights to power the solar cells at night

Both references to "Washington" in the article were unclear. I would like to know whether one of pilot areas (as well as one of the two H2 pumps) mentioned is Washington state or Washington DC.

Don't allow off shore drilling. Don't lease anymore land for oil drilling either.AS long as energy compinies can drill for oil or mine dirty coal they won't produce alternative energy.

GM needs to offer this as a RHD vehicle for rural carriers when fuel is readily available? It appears to be a good size and design for rural delivery (according to photo)

Are you kidding...Should have happened over 30 years ago!

That's the way to go! Now develop something for home heating and air conditioning.

The lack of available hydrogen pumps reminds me of similar problems with the diesel fuel availability for the general motorists back in the early 1970s. I remember looking into buying a 1977 diesel VW Rabbit but didn't because my community didn't have readily available diesel pumps. Now diesel pumps are standard at most gas stations, but the VW diesel engines are not! Will this be the same for hydrogen? Hopefully the next administration will push the fuel companies to install these types of pumps in the large metropolitan areas.

Hydrogen fuel cell powered cars have been in use for several years, not only in the Los Angeles area, but also Albany New York, to test cold weather performance. They are Hondas. Fuel cells are powering many fork lift trucks and and even a bus. The real issue is infrastructure. Home driveway generators using natural gas for fuel can, for many people, eliminate the need to patronize oil company "gas stations" and also generate electricity to use or sell back to the local electric utility company.
