They better find a place soon. We have the tip of the iceberg arriving in the form of the depleted uranium cleanup (Army Reg. 700-48)in Kuwait. Once things settle down, the 2000 tons we detonated in Iraq will be arriving, followed by the Afghanistan cleanup.

Nevada has been the primary source for uranium so it makes sense to redeposit it there. The hold up has been Reid. He wants the money for the state but has no intention of letting it ever become active. Yucca is just a big money pit

So what do the French and other nation's do with their spent nuclear fuel? Why are we not reprocessing this fuel? Why did all that Iraqi yellowcake go to Canada? Are there no U.S. companies using yellowcake to process reactor fuel? Seems like we missed a chance to pay ourselves back for some of the cost of liberating that troubled nation, or did someone get a "sweetheart deal" under the guise of national security.
