Surprise, surprise. This has to be the first time that fraud and corruption have reared their ugly heads in a war. I would also suggest that this profligacy was also a bi-partisan effort. But with all of that,it seems that the mission was ultimately very successful. Do free elections in Iraq ring a bell???

To Jonathan--this "Executive" spits on that Constitution you are looking toward for guidance. I'd guess this commission will wind up like all the others have for the past 7+ years. Accomplishing nothing and finding nothing new. And even if they do find something, what do you think they will do about it? As a former Contracting Officer, I'd love to see criminal charges on so many of the most egregious instances. But my thought is that answer will sadly be "Fat chance!".

I've been reading the constitution, and I can't find anywhere that mentions that the Executive can simply state that he won't comply to a piece of legislation, certainly not by "signing statement"

Unfortunately, all the folks that have "actual procurement fraud investigative experience" at the Pentagon seem to have been asleep at their posts during the past five plus years. To whom shall the committee turn, one wonders.

None of the selectees named have any actual procurement fraud investigative experience. Hopefully they will hire some staff who can actually do the job that needs to be done.
