It seems the situation with DISA attempting to retain as many of its employees in the 2008-2010 time frame is a bit different than the NAVAIR move from Crystal City to Pax River in 1997.There was no bus assistance unless you wanted to use a long distance Keller bus from Springfield VA to Pax.I don't recall the cost in those days but you could purchase a weekly ticket good for ten trips. Teleworking was not a reality either in those days.GSA had a telework site in Waldorf but it had limited capabilities. Some folks made creative use of the NAVAIR Liaison Office in Crystal City one or two days a week.Even though there were many challenges to working at Pax River, most of the HQ staff accepted the transfer of station with few resignations or transfers. This was especially true at the higher grades.

Re Magic Bus. DISA may want to read up on CompGen Decision B-267729, 4/1/96: "DIGEST Appropriated funds may not be expended for a bus, even though equipped with office equipment, whose primary purpose is to daily transport employees from present headquarters to relocated headquarters."
The DISA situation seems very familiar to the NAVAIR situation 12 years ago.
