oh, boo hoo for them. They have had an almost 8 year free ride into the pockets of my kids, grandkids, & probably great-grandkids. They get no sympathy from me. Wake up Congress - it's your future paying for this fiasco too.

The phrase "contract industry" tickles me - as if the tens of thousands of emerging, small, midsize (not even a recognized subtype), large and giddily humongous private and public entities comprising the "industry", providing everything from party favors to defense systems - is some delimited, powerful and malevolent organism poised to pounce on sanctified bureaucracy.

It's refreshing to read an article that actually highlights the political hypocrisy and grandstanding of Congress in the name of "procurement reform" while ignoring the primary problem which is the slashing of the acquisition workforce.
The only thing I would add is that much of the complications in contracting have little to do with executive compensation and other 'high profile' subjects and more to do with the social engineering and pandering by Congress via procurement law. A little mirror gazing by Waxman et al is in order if they really want to see the source of these problems.
