Sad. All of these 60's airframes at the limit of their airframe hours and no replacements in sight. What was Rumsfeld thinking? The CH-47 is way beyond replacement, as an outdated design from the 60's, and the Marine Corps and the Navy have pissed so much money down the Osprey toilet. I think it is time that the Lockheed/Martin/Westland EH101 get a huge purchase order to give the services reliable medium lift. In addition, the CH-53K needs to also be pushed to the front burner for heavy lift for all four services. Proven designs will serve now; open the checkbook.
