Of course no man wants anymoney to go towards protecting any abused women, local or otherwise. that is where is starts, the reality. I don't know of many communities that can support a shelter on their own. The help and awareness has to start somewhere. Same for our children.

I've got no beef with earmarks, providing it is a LEGITIMATE cause with a LEGITIMATE use APPROPRIATE for federal funding. I say ABSOLUTELY NOT to ANY earmark tacked onto national defense or other emergency funding bill. This is designed to meet taxpayer needs, not to function as political bargaining chips by those who feather their own nests. The economy is in the toilet...who put it there?

My federal taxes should not be going to a local abused women shelter. THAT is a LOCAL ISSUE and the LOCAL COMMUNITY hsould be respnding to those LOCAL NEEDS. Feradl Taxes should be used strictly to fund the projects that effect all Americans. NOT LOCAL PROJECTS.
