You want to talk real money? Do this math, if a person was born today and lived to 80 years old, they would have to spend $34,246,575.34 PER DAY in order to spend all of a Trillion dollars without interest added or anything earned, just a trillion dollars. So, the next time you see these figures, it may mean something a little different to some of you. Have a great day...oh, how about them taxes.

I don't want to hear anyone in the Air Force complaining about the cost of FCS ever again.

In all manufacturing scheme's the price negotiated always rises. Why is this? If the DoD has changed their minds, I can understand the DoD having to eat that cost. But a production line problem?, that is the manufacturers problem, one they should eat and that cost comes out of profits. Why is it that the US Government negotiates with American companies and virtually guarantees them a profit, no matter what the results?
I realize there are considerations above the average citizen, but the average citizens like me are paying for this; so who's fault is it? Did DoD, Pentagon or the Armed Forces individually change their minds? Did the original estimates not take into account the Navy uses carriers, the Marines need vertical take off, etc? Why can't one plane be used in all environments? A vertical take off, carrier equipped, Air Force plane, too much to handle?
