The main ills of industry -- avoiding competition, inability to train its workforce, inability to select quality applicants is transferring its disease on the Federal government. The IT industry is full of salesmen and marketing professionals, i.e. the non-technical type who promote the technical fad of the day -- this time it's web services and SOA; something that continues to rape the treasury year after year while showing little in terms of increased productivity and performance. Focus should be made on the management not the workforce.
