Again, we see the reality of the promises that the "old ways" of doing things would change along with the political complexion of Congress. Instead, we now have a Democratic version of the "Gang that couldn't shoot straight." They were quick off the mark, you bet, to override a Presidential veto of the annual water projects (aka the Liquid Porcine)appropriation legislation, but they just can't seem to overcome the need to politiocize everything else in the run-up to the 2008 general election. And the majority leader and Speaker have the gall - along with their Federal union sidekicks - to blame the impasse on the administration for the Census Bureau's lack of funding to put in place critical systems to ensure that the decennial process stays on track. To quote John Stoessel: "Gimme a break!"
