re: Interest rates on HSA's
Yes, this is about impossible to find. My HSA at Mail Handlers/FirstHealth/Coventry currently pays ~3.5%. The monthly fee to add JP Morgan investment accounts is $2.50 per month, which adds access to a money market fund that pays ~4.5-5% and a few mediocre mutual funds (various stocks / bonds / one international stock fund.) Anybody else out there who can supply info from the other providers?

One fact not alluded to is the interest rates on HSAs. Try finding that fact. I haven't found that yet, and no, it is not posted on fepblue.org as is stated in the Service Benefit Plan. However, the fees are very high. So the question remains, does the interest rate cover the fees? I don't know and can't find out. I emailed BCBS two days ago and haven't heard from them yet.

I thought the FEHB open season was extended to 12/28.

One other option you left out is the Consumer Driven Plan (CDP) that is offered by Aetna (locally) and APWU (nationally). I find this to be a very viable option as long as your health care costs are low. Not many people are well versed or even aware that CDP exists or how it works.
