This award represents a dedicated effort of continuous improvement by multiple commanders, the subject matter experts on thier staff--led by Donelle, and a previous winner of the Army Performance Excellence Award, as well. Well deserved!

Nila,
I believe you may be either referring to your installation winning the OPM Presidential Quality Award or one of the DoD awards - all of which are based on the Baldrige criteria. Legislation was enacted which makes 2007 the first year nonprofits (such as the Federal government) can apply for the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award (MBQA), thus making ARDEC the first Federal winner. Although the other awards within OPM, DoD and state programs are/were based on the Baldrige criteria (all of which ARDEC has won in the past) - there is only one MBQA. As such, ARDEC joins the 72 past winners over the last twenty years who have won this award.

Go Army! There, I said it. I know we are on different teams, but the troops, sailors, marines, and airmen deserve the very best. Keep up the pace, don't look back, we are breathing down your neck!

I served at this Installation for seven years in a variety of capacities at a time ARDEC was frequently considered for closure. Congradulations to an outstanding workforce and its vendor base for their contributions to national security over the many years it has been there. We could not have easily replaced the talent that works there if it moved anywhere else.

Congratulations to the ARDEC. However a correction is in order. Over the years, ghe Malcolm Baldrige Award has been awarded to many other federal agencies. I was a proud employee of the US Air Force, Air Armament Center when they received this prestigous award in the late 1990's.
