Maybe those there now should look back to Novell on the backside with Windows only used in the DMZ. The DMZ initially was designed to be the buffer allowing only internet access to that point. I am not sure when we lost sight of Servers interface the network with Users accessing only the servers that down load the information requested and scan all information. The user did not access it from the designated draw servers , but access the pull servers that got them from the push servers. Re org is needed for all crtical sub net and systems. Money and risk management lost touch.

Awareness and training key to cyber and infrastructure security
With a report recently released by Debka (Intelligence experts) claiming Al Qaeda will be focusing on cyber warfare and cyber attacks against U.S. computers, systems and infrastructure (from utilities to banking), more Americans should be made aware and educated about the severity of this threat. Our nation and its critical infrastructure is so dependent upon computers and related programming, that we as a people have got to become more prepared and trained to respond to such cyber attacks by terrorists who are dedicated to the destruction of our economy via the business sector and computer/cyber attacks.
Vigilence and mitigation is a top priority in order to survive extremely destructive cyber attacks from our enemies. The FBI Infragard program is one source that could assist with awareness and education in the mitigation area. Being cyber attacks are of a real threat to our national security, resources such as State and National Guard should be utilized to help defend our nations infrastructure. Guard members should be offered bonuses and high wages if they accept training in computer security and work in the private and/or corporate sectors and especially in those areas relating to the infrastructure.
Junior and high school students should be additionally educated to the threat that our nation faces now and in the future and urged to train for future high income positions in cyber security. And also informed about the great importance of the service they would be rendering to our nations security and future, therefore assuring that the demand will be filled in the near future.
Most Americans are not aware of the importance of cyber security relating to those functions served in technology that are related to our services and our survival as a nation.
