Why do members of the Navy Reserve, Merchant Marine Reserve program need another ID card? We already have a biometric military ID and a TWIC would be redundand and serve no real additional security purpose. Furthermore, I already have a Corps of Engineers biometric ID, isn't that enough? What additional information would a TWIC have that isn't already on file? I'm a licensed Merchant Marine Officer and have been backround checked already by the Coast Guard and have a Merchant Mariners Document, again, it already has security information on it. How many times do I need to be fingerprinted? Poeple that already have a military ID, Federal Government ID, or Merchant Mariners Document already have a TWIC and those ID's should be enough.
