If they don't fix the current emplemented work rules soon,we will leaving at a staggering rate. Not many are opting to work with frozen pay and continued harrasment. I remember a day when they were glad to have us, now they make it painful to stay. But until they respect the working controller again, the FAA as a whole is going to flounder. The delays we have now are nothing compared to what will happen when the senior controllers leave enmasse.

"In late August, the agency awarded a $1.8 billion contract to White Plains, N.Y.-based ITT to develop and maintain the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast system, which relies on information provided by the Global Positioning System network to provide navigation, location and weather data to pilots and air traffic controllers."
Yeah, good old Ms Blakey! Gives the contract to a company (ITT), who directly affects the company for whom she will now be CEO (AIA)...A couple of weeks before she leaves the FAA as Administrator. But then a couple of years ago she has the nerve to send out an email telling we employees we cannot invest in certain companies due to a conflict of interest...and I don't even have a say in who gets what contracts...unlike Ms Blakey. Oh, wait a minute, didn't we have a Vice President who did something simi"liar"? Then when questioned, she says, I did eveything ethical and legal. Yeah, right!!

Was going to stay another 4 years because I love the job, but the changes the FAA has implemented make it financially better to retire and take cost of living raises rather than keep working with pay frozen. FAA's claim that overtime is voluntary is a flat out lie. Allow controllers to opt out of any Overtime and watch the system collapse!

I cannot say THANK YOU enough to Congressman Hastings and his staff for getting Section 822 added to the FAA Reauthorization Bill added to save the lives and the businesses of South Florida, by stopping the consolidation of PBIA to MIA.
For those congress members that voted against it Mack, Mario Diaz Balart, Feeney, John Mica, and Weldon I hope the people of Florida do the honors of letting you know just how much their lives are worth. Seems you think they are worth $0.00 .
I just hope that the President of the United States cares more about South Florida than his brother did and allows this to become a law. I have the former Governor's letter and the present governors departments letters and how this administration feels about this subject posted on my website www.faahope.com . You can see what they really think about south Florida. If it does not become a law I still have an on going investigation with the Inspector General's Office of the DOT in Washington. By trying to consolidate PBIA to MIA the FAA was breaking the Homeland Security Act of 2002, Presidential Directives 7 & 8, and the NIPP of 2006. I will not give up till I know the people and businesses are safe here in South Florida.

Thee is a reason for the mass controller retirements. Why work for an employer that cuts your pay, increases your hours and harrases you on the job ? The system will collapse. The question is when and who will be held accountable for it ?

FAA, when in the past 50 years have seats at the OAK city school house ever gone empty? Never, till now with entry level controllers signed up at 18k year. Ms Ventris Gibson did a job search for controllers on the internet and saw that the Navy was hiring at 18k a year. so she thought she would do the same. Well the strain for public assistance was so high in OKC, she's now making the new controllers sign an agreement NOT to seek public assistance under the threat of discharge. Classrooms designed for thirty students are almost empty. So when the bill comes out of committee sans ATC you can bet the system will almost surely fall apart, but that was the plan all along anyway right?

We have the safest air traffic control system in the world and I have worked with the best air controllers in the FAA at the New York TRACON. What you have to remember is that we have three major airports(EWR,JFK & LGA) located within 15 miles. Give the controllers, technians and safety inspector a fair contract. Federal employees continue to be short changed.
