With Regard to your Masterminds issue of Sept 15 2007:
I have had the good fortune to have held both line and staff positions during my federal career. I do appreciate the complex and technical nature of the challenges each of these executives are charged with resolving. I am not certain whether it was the editorial focus of your magazine or the unfiltered focus of the executives interviewed but I expected more than a few of these executives to focus on their core purpose to support the line execution of the mission of their respective organizations. Politics and regulatory pressures aside, it would have been refreshing to see more success stories about improvement in productivity of the organizational workforce and success in meeting organizational mission objectives instead of internal focus on improvement within their respective functional area.
Great magazine... Thank you.
