Isn't it ironic that those who make the laws break the laws and enforce the laws. And even more ironic is the fact that working level Government Acquistion Career types have to fill out a "What do I own" disclosure form and take and ethics class every year. In the majority of casesworking level Acquition types are ethical and moral public servants.

The problem is these guys worry more about getting re-elected than doing whats right. Thats how the corruption begins, and then it just spirals out of control from there
I don't know that limiting their terms so drastically will solve this problem...but maybe it would. These guys need to clean their act up, but most importantly the American people need to clean up their act. We need to get out and vote people. Become more smarter than you were the day before, become more informed than you were the before, and get active in the decisions going on in your country. Lack of action has become the biggest enslaver of our freedom.

Take away ALL of the perks, too. US government approved health benefits; pension system; and have them forfeit all of their accured pension benefits when convicted of a felony. No more "Millionaire's Club" in the U.S. Senate. Everyone, just like the President is limited to 8 years of elected service in the Congress. This is the very best gig, they will ever have in their lives and they don't want to give it up. You call this working for a living? The lobbyist write the legislation for them and then meet them at a "fact finding" conference later on at the golf course or the tennis court. Who picks up the tab?

Does it take away their pensions if they are convicted of a felony? If not it's not worth the paper it's written on.

Here is how to drain the swamp: throw every incumbent out of office in each of the next ten (maybe twenty) elections.
It will never happen because the American public is complicit in the on-going larceny, but the cliche, "Power corrupts..." became a cliche for a reason.
