Return to Article: Frustrations raised over delays in frequent traveler program

This was a program set up for our esteemed congressmen so they didn't have to wait in line and go thru security. A better immediate solution is to eliminate TSA special screeners for 1st class passengers. Since the taxpayers are paying for security why do we have a special line for 1st class??

I would like to know why all federal employees (who have already had thorough background checks to support high levels of government security clearances) aren't given, at no extra cost, the advantage of faster security screening? That program could start immediately. Why are government travelers treated like second class citizens?

TSA Administrator Hawley is right. No real assurance exists that a "Registered Traveler" poses less threat than others. No security-related logic suppports creation of a priviledged class of travelers. Senators, Congressmen, their staffs, corporate chieftains and all underlings should be treated equally. History proves that no particular group is immune to moments of craziness or bad character.
