  Great article......The US just can't fight this with military might, it will never work. I fear that these tactics will surface here and begin to get us from the inside. Let's get out now and protect the home front.

  First of all, we have to remove the target. An 18 year old with an M-16 is no match for this kind of insurgency. We need to cut our forces to 10,000 fat old majors and special forces types running around in civilian clothes in appropriated taxis with bags of cash. These guys need to be cutting deals with the local tribal leaders. You don't need any more technology, you need initiative and flexibility, something sadly lacking in today's leadership.

  It looks to me like we would be better off attacking this problem through financial mechanisms. Replace cash with some kind of traceable voucher system. Suspicious transactions could be investigated or stopped in its entirety.

  While IED defense remains saddled by a Army general whose leadership perspective is derived by an inherited career developed in an Army that is the end of the supply chain we will continue to followed strategies that follow logic of "more men and materiel will win the day". The view from the Tigres is needed but we remain with the scenes from the Potomac.

  Rules Of Engagement are killing our troops and many more civilians. The same foolishness as Vietnam. We won WWII by devistating the enemy. If we hadn't we would have lost, like Vietnam and Iraq.

  If you're not willing to kill your enemy then you are willing to let them kill you and your children. The enemy plays you now.

  Excellent article. Certainly very, very hard won intelligence. Also very historically and culturally predictive.

  We should be stationed outside the enemy cities, periodically going in to "mop-up" what is left of warring factions after they kill each other.

  Every American should be aware that this is what might be coming, in it's varied forms, to the domestic U.S. scene.

  Domestically located Officialdom is very largely ignoring these threats, not taking action, managing their careers instead of their jobs, and killing any messenger who brings the SOPs of these highly motivated, historically combative, and highly ethical "foreign fighters" to their attention.

  Articles like these should make our Domestic Government "wake up" to take effective measures to protect the public. But, right now, except for Coast Guard, the FEMA mentality seems to hold sway. Please keep these excellent articles coming. Some of us are listening and will take action to protect. There is little to do to help "those who will not listen".
