I understand most Americans and can safely state we are all in agreement over the fact that we're fed up with illegal aliens pouring into this country like pus from an open wound and being given free handouts instead of the boot. But, let's get some facts straight: To begin with, America and most of the world drives on the right side of the road, not the left. The only country I'm aware of that drives on the left is the UK and that practice culminated from the days of jousting in medieval times. Secondly, stem cell research? If companies are willing to shell out some of the millions in profits they make every year to bankroll it, why not? Gays can't marry...I don't think so. If they want to cohabitate, fine. If we let them marry, then they want all the benefits of married couples including health care for surgeries, AIDS drugs, and what else. Why is it that some health care providers pay thousands per month for AIDS drugs and treatment because the "victims" chose to live a potentially dangerous lifestyle but men who have ED and want to continue a healthy, monogamous relationship with their spouses still get screwed paying $10-12 a pill for Viagra, Levitra, and such?
Why can't we afford prescriptions and health care? Because the pharmeceutical companies are too busy making millions off their medications and the costs of health care have skyrocketed because of the cost of medical malpractice insurance is out the roof. Dick Cheney accidentally shot his hunting partner...I'd rather be hunting with him than driving with Ted Kennedy.
Look on the bright side...at least you don't have to bathe in a dirty river with the farm animals.

With all the talk about amnesty, work permits, guest workers and others we will not have gotten to the bigger problem. Surely those who want to work will come forward but we need to know about all the illegals here. We should demand that all illegals report to a federal center to be identified and listed. Give them six months and provide a true identity card with a promise not to expel them immediately. After that any law enforcement officer should be able to stop someone and if lacking ID should be immediately deported. NO hearings, no notices to report. Get these laws passed now.

Great posts! As a gratefully retired federal officer I spent some time training for cross-certification with the old INS. What a crock! The present DHS mess has only worsened the situation. But we as Americans need to let our elected officials exactly how we feel. It's so easy with computers, just send an email, one per week at a minimum. Let these politicos know that we don't want illegal infiltration to be rewarded. Tell them that the employers who use cheap labor should be prosecuted, their assets seized, and they will go to jail if properly convicted. Bet the illegal infiltrators will hike up to Canada, or maybe China? Wake Up America, we're still losing.

I never understood the Americans. They are really funny. Rest of the world drives on right side of the road but in America its left. Rest of the world turn the knobs of taps anticlockwise but in America its clockwise. Likewise the electric switches. America boasts of the strictest digital immigration rules but at the same time anyone can sneak into America easily like a rat. On one side they are building walls and on other side undocumented workers stand openly on streets looking for employers to pick them up. I am really confused about this country. Is this a normal country ? America boasts of freedom but no stem cell research, gays cannot marry, abortion, list goes on ...
America is a trillion dollar economy but what an irony that its own kids cannot afford college and citizens cannot afford health care and buy medicines illegally from Canada !!! America is known for justice but OJ roams free. Americans even change nature's time for their convenience. Americans love cats and dogs but they also have the record of killing lakhs of animals every year for lab experiments. Americans display their flags proudly everywhere but when I examined one flag, it read in small letters - "Made in China" !!! Dick cheney almost killed his own team member while hunting. Lastly thanks to America for giving Seinfield. God bless funny America.

The bottom line is that the Senate is going to reward the illegal aliens who break the law and slap the face of the millions of aliens who have followed the law, filled out the forms, paid the fees, and are waiting their turn to come here legally.
I have never been so disgusted with the government then I am now. The USA was founded on good principles such as loyality and obedience to the law.
Now with few exceptions, the elected officials from the President down to city officials are selling out the country for personal gain.
There is NO legitimate reason to grant amnesty to illegal aliens.
And for those who fall for the "The aliens will have to go to the back of the line for citizenship." I would like to point out that amnesty will put them in the FRONT of the line for residency. And residency is what the illegal aliens want, not citizenship. That is why you see the Mexican flag flying all over the USA.
Shame on anyone who supports amnesty and penalizes the good honest aliens. Shame on you!

No immigration reform should be passed if it rewards illegals in any way shape or form. Since the illegals insist on stealing American identities are the new ID cards for legal immigrants going to consist of numbers for ID? I think they should use letters (AAA-AA-AAAA)that way American employers will be able to deter an illegal from stealing an identity. You know if they can't speak English they are probably from another country, a RED flag? Just an idea. I think we should follow the lead of Colorado and get tough. They have good laws and illegals stay away, they are even advised to stay away from Colorado.It is time for the government to start working for Americans, We the people, instead of worrying about an illegal alien getting their feelings hurt. We need to stand up and stop all the treason that is going on. Impeach Bush and fire his cronies and get America back on track. Stop taking our freedoms from us. Enforce the laws we have and be done with it. Stop wasting our tax dollars on this issue because no matter what is done somebody will get upset and it SHOULD be the illegal aliens. Force them to go home and demand of their governments what they are DEMANDING of ours. No more anchor babies. This needs to be taken care of.
