It is interesting that at the same speech Hillary is quoted ""Way back in the 1990s, the White House had an Office of Technology Assessment that was charged with just one task: telling us the truth about science. ... It's time we put this office back in business, because our citizens should have the information they need about the issues that affect them." Reinstating this would cost the government about 30 billion a year which is almost double the savings she claims her cuts would cost.

Hilary hit the nail on the head. When the government began hiring contractors to improve operations it seemed like a good idea. However, the federal government almost always overpays and federal contractors almost always under deliver for services. For example tax collection is far cheaper and more cost effective by IRS employees rather than government contractors. Contractors are only interested in getting contract extensions and modifications instead of delivering services. FEDERAL EMPLOYEES ARE TAXPAYERS TOO!

Sorry... I'm not buying any of this. The Clinton socialist agenda requires funding, so any "cutting" of contractors would only support redirection of tax dollars into other feel-good expenses. It's also sad to say that $18B is insignificant in relation to our Federal budget and debt.
Neither party has focused on reducing our Federal government to its Constitutional boundaries (or even stopping government's growth). When will one of these wanna-be "leaders" propose meaningful change? How about balancing the budget by reducing programs? How about fixing our punitive income tax system? How about establishing a retirement system that doesn't burden our grandchildren with crushing debt? She (and her transparent agenda) is not news. Where are the real leaders?

Right on Hillary! You have a great issue here to go against the Republicans. Instead of talking about the number of contractorw you should focus on the amount of contractor money to be saved. No only do contractors cost more in dollar terms but they cause great problems with existing staff. None of the people here can get promoted because the mangers always hire contractors who sit around doing nothgn when they could promote existing employees and get far more in productivity. I now get tasks from contractors and the government employees they work for do not even bother4 to send the task, they stop working and let the contractor do the grunt work that results in no feed back and poor attitudes on the part of employees that are going no where because of incompetent contractors.
