I must agree with Jean.
My interest was piqued thinking I was going to read about our concerns, but was initially disappointed to read about contractors.
While I felt a tad misled, I quickly got interested considering the undermining of arguments for the entire A-76 process. We've never had a contractor cost less than a GS they were replacing. We've been told the savings were all long term. This cast quite a different light on the subject.
Now it seems contractors are treated much more like the proposals of NSPS with the deployability and scalability aspects. If only they'd pay us what they pay them.
I don't care what my wife says, I CAN learn new things. Sometimes.

The real issue isn't public vs. private. It is an ongoing attack on work-a-day Americans. CEO's sent our jobs overseas; our leaders allow low-wage foreigners to invade our country to beat down the wages of the remaining jobs. Now they want to reduce our retirement benefits. Americans, wake up! Soon, our only jobs will be fighting wars in obscure locales that have funny names.

I found this piece misleading in that contractors are not civil servants, which is what is usually meant by federal workers. I also find it concerning that the federal government is so involved in funding the pensions of contractors, since one of the stated reasons for the use contractors has usually been to save money on benefits.
