Hey, they cannot do worse than AFGE does here at the Department of State. Give them a try.

NTEU to represent TSA employees? Now I've heard everything! Those that they already are representing, they're not adequately doing the job. Probably only one reason they want TSA. To recoup paid member that were lost for various reasons in the other agencies. I can't think of a better one, but maybe they will respond.

NTEU after 5 years of struggle now steps up when it looks like things are going in labor's favor. Their interest among the 40,000 TSOs seem to be only in a few of the largest airports in certain parts of the country.
What gives with only having an interest in a small percentage of the TSOs? It NTEU has an interest in TSOs, shouldn't they have an interest in all of them?
What about the poor TSO's suffering abusive management and personnel policies in the small regional airports? Too much work with too litter reward for NTEU?
And last but not least, what is with all the attention on GovExec.com with NTEU? Someone buy a batch of subscriptions?

Yeah, good ole NTEU. Maybe somewhere in a universe far, far away there is another NTEU that really represents the member at the local level, but I doubt it. It's not just the Washington politics at the higher levels, the local chapters spent too much time with the backsides of management during the "partnership agreement". I was a union steward and had to constantly report the mismanagement to the chapter officials, who consistently "turned the other cheek"! So watch out, TSA folks, because these people merely want their union time, perks, and preferential overtime, not your best interests!

NTEU has shown a willingness to yield to management time and time again. This is just another effort to hurt another union to gain members. TSOs should look at how NTEU filed in favor of DHS management against the NAAE's recent lawsuit, or how NTEU backstabbed AFGE after agreeing to joint representation of CBP personnel in favor of a "referendum" for a single union to represent them. TSOs beware! If NTEU is so willing to backstab other unions in favor of management, do you really think they'll look after you?
