Return to Article: House to vote on FOIA overhaul legislation

This story highlights the fact that Congress is not doing anything to enhance agencies abilities to operate more efficiently. It is almost as if they have no idea of the increased red tape and effects of the legislation being proposed. For example, recently the Department of Veterans Affairs has been under extreme criticism by these same people for the length of time it takes to process returning veterans claims. If this legislation passes, personnel will have to be removed from processing claims to processing FOIA requests. The result will be even longer a delay in processing claims. Which is more important?
