How much per hour? They're paid $600 a day, but the contractor who employs them bills the U.S. government $815 a day for their services, plus more for their room, board and other expenses.
For doing the same work that a U.S. soldier does, identical work, these guys are making up to $300,000 a year.
U.S. taxpayers are getting ripped off.
Re-nationalize the military.

All USA combat individuals in Iraq are mercenaries! What is the difference if they are US military or US military contractors? A mercenary contractor is a short-term military person operating as needed by the military. A military member is a long-term mercenary operating as needed by the USAS government. I see little if any difference. However, under the standards of war the contractor mercenaries would be in civilian uniform and subject to execution as spies. I think the military should be required to give contract mercenaries military uniforms to prevent their execution as spies. In the mean time, the contract individuals should be paid much higher rates than the military mercenaries because they are subject to much higher risks.

Are these not enemy combatants to the residents of Iraq? How much per hour to hire these mercenaries?
